Through a blend of romanticization and aestheticization, the collection delves into the enchanting yet oppressive realities that girls and women navigate. Each piece in the portfolio encapsulates the duality of beauty and darkness, joy and threat, and innocence and danger, creating a narrative that highlights the resilience and strength of femininity in the face of societal challenges.

Comprised of four artworks, this portfolio interweaves themes of societal expectations, media influence, and the nuanced journey from girlhood to womanhood. Each piece invites viewers to reflect on the complexities of growing up female in a world that both idolizes and oppresses feminine youth.

"Bear the Burden": Inspired by a viral TikTok debate, this piece juxtaposes an enchanting tea party with the lurking presence of male figures, symbolizing the pervasive threat girls face under patriarchy. It highlights the burdens borne by young girls and the women who strive to protect them, emphasizing the need for collective resistance against gendered violence.

"No Polly Pockets Over 25": Using Polly Pocket dolls to recreate Leonardo DiCaprio's infamous yacht parties, this artwork critiques the societal obsession with youth and beauty in women. It reflects on how media narratives shape young girls' perceptions, perpetuating unrealistic standards and gender imbalances.

"Growing Pains": This piece traces the journey of puberty through a sequence of figures, each representing the same girl at different stages. It contrasts idealized portrayals of puberty with the harsh realities, highlighting the loss of innocence and the emotional and psychological challenges girls face as they mature.

"An Epidemic": Rooted in a research paper on the exploitation of female child and teen celebrities, this collage features stars from various generations, accompanied by quotes and imagery.
